School Meal Payment Debt
Dear Parents & Carers,
Re: School Meal Payment Debt
I wanted to let you know that we are currently owed a total of £685 in school meal payments. This is the highest amount for any school of our size in Bracknell Forest.
We know that the vast majority of parents keep their accounts in credit and if they do go into arrears, quickly top them up. However, there are too many who do not do this and the office has to spend a great deal of time chasing payment. This situation cannot continue.
The practice elsewhere has been to stop parents from ordering school lunches until accounts are back in credit. We have chosen not do this up until now, but from September 2017 we will be adopting this approach in line with most other Bracknell Forest schools.
Please keep an eye on your Cypad account (either on-line or when you receive a statement) and if it is in arrears or has low credit, please add some funds. If money is owed and no action is taken, the office will remind you once. After that we may suspend your account and you will have to send your child to school with a packed lunch. We also reserve the right to take further action to recover any money owed.
If you think your child may be entitled to a Free School Meal (FSM) or are experiencing financial hardship, please speak to Mrs Talbot or go to: https://www.bracknell-forest.gov.uk/school-meals/could-my-child-be-entitled-free-school-meals for further information.
Your support and co-operation with this matter would be much appreciated.
Mr G Strudley (Headteacher)
