Wildmoor Heath School

mindfulness and well being during lockdown and beyond

Learning is going to be different for a while.  School is now open and most of our learners are in school; some will be learning from home if they are self isolating.   The well being of children at Wildmoor Heath is always paramount.  We put together a timetable of fun activities which will boost children's mental health during this period.
In the Summer term, Mrs Thurgood (ELSA) introduced our Year 6 learners to Mind Yeti - a digital library of research-based, guided audio sessions that help support the well-being and social-emotional and academic development of young children. As children practise these sessions, they begin to build a mindfulness habit. Sessions feature diverse voices and immersive soundscapes to help children learn to focus their attention, calm themselves down, and connect to others and the world around them with kindness and gratitude.  Click below to try a session:

A weekly suggested timetable will be on EDMODO for our self-isolating learners, however we are also including the activities here for our wider community to benefit from.
